Spring into CAI Membership

It’s not just the clocks that spring forward, but as Chair of the Membership Committee (and as a committee member since 2023) I fully challenge he membership to spring into action and take advantage of what Community Associations Institute (CAI) has to offer you.

This is a great time of year to re-evaluate what your membership means to you and what you can do to make the most of your member type. As a manager, I look forward

to all of the education programs and how they can assist me on my professional development journey where I can utilize all of the information given to me and apply it to my day-to-day work in my community.

Conquer + Connect. This event is not only worth 5CEUs for those community managers who need credits, but it is a full day of learning and professional development hosted by the women in our industry, with heavy-hitting keynotes that leave you with practical takeaways. It’s an event that I look forward to each year. I see the support that

the CAI-NJ membership shows the Women’s Leadership Committee by attending, sponsoring, and participating in this must-attend program.

The Membership Committee is hosting another Mix in with Membership on April 21st, which allows new members to join our Membership Meeting, introduce themselves, and learn more about getting involved. The entire committee is there to assist new members by answering questions along with allowing the group to keep an eye out for those new folks at future events to make them feel included and welcome. Our first Mix in with Membership was a success and we are looking forward to hosting more such events throughout the year.

The Membership Committee is also hosting their New Member Open House on June 23, 2026. We encourage any new members or current members who need a refresh er on the industry to participate. You’ll have the opportunity to see the CAI-NJ headquarters, meet the staff and board of directors, learn about your benefits, and, most importantly, meet new faces who can help you onboard into this valuable group of people.

The one thing I can say from experience is that CAI-NJ is a family and I have been so fortunate to have made lasting connections within this organization. It’s important to stay

connected, follow CAI-NJ on social media, and stay current with their newsletters and emails promoting registration for CAI events and programs. Getting social with CAI-NJ is a campaign of the Membership Committee. We encourage you to share, tag, like, re-share posts, and engage with the chapter, because, at the end of the day, we’re all in the same network and we want everyone to succeed.

I’ll leave you with some ways to spring into your membership:

• Write an article for Community Trends® or Submit a speaking proposal so you can be the expert in the industry

• Meet new faces at an event

• Follow CAI-NJ on LinkedIn and Facebook

• Recruit a friend and bring them on board

• Stay current with legislation and best practices

I know that I still have so much to learn, serving as Chair, but I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve on the committee as a volunteer and take advantage of every

Lunch with Legislation Action Committee (LAC), Manager Leadership Workshop and social gathering CAI-NJ has to offer because it makes me a better manager.
